Board and Staff Profiles:

Clark Sheets, President 

Clark was born and raised on his parent's Hocking County farm, which has been in the family for over 100 years.  He is married to wife, Cathy, for over 28 years, and has a son and daughter, and one grandson.  Clark has been a SWCD supervisor over 25 years, and is in his 15th year as a Township Trustee.  Clark not only farms, but is also the owner of an excavating/trucking operation, a member of the Marion Twp. volunteer fire department, is an elder at Covenant Christian in Lancaster, and a member of the FFA alumni, both the Corn and Soybean Association, and the NRA.

 

Lawrence Burdell, Vice-President

Lawrence has spent 63 years on a beef farm operation in southeast Ohio, Gallia County.  He graduated from the University of Rio Grande with a major in Biology.  He has been married to his wife, Judy, for nearly 37 years and has four children, and nine grandchildren.  He taught Biology for 10 years. And, he has been a SWCD supervisor in Gallia County for 24 years.  Lawrence is currently serving the OFSWCD as Vice-President.

 

Kent Stuckey, Secretary/Treasurer

Kent has been a supervisor with the Crawford County SWCD for the past 12 years. During this time he has served 5 years as a Director for the OFSWCD, and is currently the OFSWCD Secretary/Treasurer.  Kent has also served on the Environmental Resource Policy committee for the National Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.  At home Kent manages the crop and financial end of a 300-cow, family dairy farm.  His wife, Laura, and 3 boys, Ben, Zach and Ethan, help with the work on the farm - which consists of 1,100 acres of corn, soybeans and hay.  On the farm, he employs conservation practices such as: GPS soil grid sampling, no-till, a manure nutrient management plan, and cover crops. Kent is active in his local community and church, Grace United Methodist.  In his spare time he likes to woodwork, and he also competes in marathons and triathlons.

 

Ken Riedlinger, Past President

Ken was born and raised in Wyandot County , Ohio . For 40 years, he has lived and worked on the family farm, which has been in the Riedlinger family since 1878.  He and his wife, Mary, grow corn and soybeans.  They have 4 grown daughters and proudly boast 14 grandchildren, and are looking forward to the arrival of their first great-grandchild in August '08.  Ken has been a supervisor with the Wyandot County SWCD since 1994.  He has served as a Director of Area 1.  He has served all of the office positions of OFSWCD,
and is currently serving as Past President and the OFSWCD's representative to the NACD.  He is a member of Ohio Farm Bureau and the Knights of Columbus .  He is a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church and is active in church activities.

 

Mindy Bankey, CEO

Mindy currently serves the OFSWCD as the Chief Executive Officer.  Her background includes 10+ years of service with the ODNR serving as the chief of the Office of Legislative Services and more recently as Environmental Administrator for the Division of Real Estate and Land Management.  She served nearly 3 years in the Ohio General Assembly as Legislative Aide to the Honorable Doug White.  She graduated from Cedarville University with a
degree in Pre-Law/Political Science.  She resides in Grove City with her husband, Jeff, and two daughters, Lauren and Natalie.  She is a member of the Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

 

Laura Hollingsworth, Administrative Assistant

Laura currently serves as the OFSWCD Administrative Assistant. She holds a B.S. Degree from East Carolina University and began working for the Zale Corporation after college. For the past five years (before joining the OFSWCD), Laura has worked for two humane societies in South Carolina, which sparked her passion for animals and working for non-profit organizations. She is a founding member of the Horry County Humane Society. Laura resides in Columbus with her "better half", Dave, son, Dillon, and her 2 dogs, cat, and uromastyx.  Laura is also an active volunteer at the Humane Society of Delaware County.
